Careers Advisers Session March 2016

Careers Advisers Session March 2016_2On Thursday 17 March 2016, 40 Careers Advisers from the St George Region and South West M4/M5 visited our Campus. Besides touring the facilities and enjoying some lunch at the venue, the group received some updates from different organisations and participated in some very interesting talks from the Deputy Principal of Top Education Institute, Professor Sam Blay and the Dean of the Sydney City School of Law, Professor Eugene Clark.

Trudy Noller from the Universities Admission Centre (UAC), Samantha Hamill and Fiona Hohlein from TAFE, and Gurjit Kaur, the Senior Pathways Officer of the NSW Department of Education, updated the attendees of their organisations.

The hosts provided the group with two sessions that were completely related to the past, present and future of the professions of a Career Adviser. Professor Eugene Clark guided a mini-lecture called Future of the Professions: Implication for Careers Advisers (PDF), and Professor Sam Blay conducted a workshop about Careers Advisers and the Law: Care for Advice? (PDF)

We thank Mira Krnjaic from Birrong Boys High School and Adrian Chin from Bossley Park High School for coordinating with us to make this event happen, and we look forward to receiving other groups of Careers Advisers in the future.
