 The Dean's Welcome Message

"It’s my great pleasure to welcome you to Sydney City School of Business at Top Education. As you look forward to your time at TOP, so we look forward to 2019 with great confidence after a very successful 2018. I am sure you have chosen the right place to study for your undergraduate or postgraduate degree in accounting, applied finance, business, management or marketing. In recent years TOP has regularly expanded its range of degree courses, including our Master of Business Administration in 2018, and we have further plans to expand in the business field.

2018 has proven to be a very exciting year for the Business School at TOP with a several “land-mark” achievements. A major endorsement of TOP was the decision of the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA) to grant Self Accrediting Authority to Top Education Institute in the field of Management and Commerce at AQF Levels 5-9. This is a very rare and important recognition by the Australian Government which allows TOP to design, develop and implement business courses up to Masters’ degree level without requiring TEQSA’s approval. While all Australian universities have self-accrediting status, such Self Accrediting Authority is extremely rare among private higher education providers and is a public mark of recognition by the Australian Government’s regulator.

A further major achievement of TOP in 2018 has been the successful public listing of Top Education on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. The listing can be seen as a major step in TOP’s development and commitment to the Australian higher education sector and also as a vote of confidence by investors in TOP’s academic mission and its commercial success. The listing acts to cement TOP’s financial position and will help to underwrite TOP’s financial and business success as it develops further.

Further endorsement of the Business School’s programs comes from the accounting profession in the continuing full accreditation of the Business School’s accounting programs with CPA Australia and Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand. In addition, the Business School is currently registered by CPA Australia as a CPA Program tuition provider in the conduct of our Master of Accounting Practice degree program.

Things are also changing on Top Education’s campus in the Australian Technology Park (ATP) as the precinct is being expanded and enhanced with major improvements and renovations by the ATP owner, along with the construction of new buildings. The site upgrade will allow TOP to expand and provide future students with enhanced campus facilities and high-tech learning spaces while students will be able to access an extended range of recreational and personal services within the ATP precinct.

So there is much to look forward to, and 2019 will see a continuation of the Business School’s expansion, building on the strength of its reputation among the government and business community and its growing alumni. We will continue to grow and improve our programs and we will also welcome new staff and, as always, new students. Together, we are partners in your educational journey and your ultimate success. Of course, all successful partnerships are built on working hard together. We assure you of our commitment to your success and we wish you a most enjoyable and productive time at the Sydney City School of Business."
