Program Overview The Graduate Certificate of Business Research represents an exit point for those candidates enrolled in the MBR who choose not to complete the final three semesters of study in the masters degree. It also serves as an entry pathway to higher learning as partial admission to a research masters.
The GCBR provides students with specialised knowledge and advanced research skills, and incorporates the identification and discussion of a wide range of theoretical and empirical research methods. This course will equip students with the skills to pursue employment opportunities with commercial research employers seeking research insights in business environments.

Entry Requirements
  • Australian bachelor's degree or equivalent with a minimum Credit average (65% or more).
  • Eight years' full-time relevant work experience as approved by the Higher Degree Research Committee

  • TRES6020 Planning and Writing a Research Proposal and Dissertation
  • TRES6030 Quantitative Research Methods
  • TRES6040 Qualitative Research Methods

To qualify for the award of Graduate Certificate in Research Business, a student must complete an aggregate of 4 core subjects (24 units of credit).

According to Graduate Careers Australia, Graduate Salaries Report 2014, median salaries for postgraduates with a postgraduate certificate qualification in Business is approximately $92,000.

The average salary for an employee with a business research degree in 2015, according to PayScale, is between $48,000 and $96,071.

Further Study The Graduate Certificate of Business Research is designed to prepare students for one of the research higher degrees. Graduates may be able to move on to the Graduate Diploma in Business Research Methods, a PhD or a Master of Philosophy Program.
